Invention Disclosure Information
To initiate the invention disclosure process please use the Invention Disclosure Form (IDF) available for downloading in [DOC] or [PDF] format. For relevant information please see: FAQs.
If you have developed an invention in the performance of activities outside of UC Berkeley (such as under a consulting agreement with a company) and you don't want to disclose proprietary information as part of your invention disclosure to the University, then go to the Preliminary Disclosure Page.
Please return the completed IDF to the OTL. After your IDF has been reviewed by this office, we will contact you. If you have questions regarding the forms or process, then please call the OTL's main office number, (510) 643-7201.
If you want information about the policies and laws governing intellectual property (IP) at the University of California, or more information about the policies and practices for managing and licensing IP at the University, then please go to this web page: University of California Technology Licensing Policies.
