Omar Qarshi

As director of the UC Berkeley Equity Solutions Group, Omar manages the university’s widening acquisition of equity positions in startups, expanding opportunities for equity ownership and ensuring alignment of ownership with UC Berkeley’s mission. His group collaborates with stakeholders across the start-up equity lifecycle, from company formation, capital raises, and corporate actions to liquidity/exit events. Under the umbrella of the Chief Innovation & Entrepreneurship Officer's Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E), the Equity Solutions Group partners with the UC Berkeley Office of Intellectual Property and Industry Research Alliances (IPIRA), as well as incubators, accelerators, hubs, and affiliated venture capital funds, and also the Office of the Chief Investment Officer and the Knowledge Transfer Office at UC Office of the President (UCOP).
